A Word for Today presents a reflection on the recent events in Israel during the Holiday Simchat Torah.  The text of Thessalonians 4:2-4 reveals some similarity between the dreadful event in Israel, and the coming day of the Lord like a thief in the night--and the necessity for all believers in Jesus to be watchful in these last days and terrible times.  

 In Psalm 107, the redeemed are summoned to lift up their voices in thanksgiving to God for His lovingkindness. Redeemed families around the world are reminded that continued  challenges, and crises they face daily can never outperform God's goodness, mercy, and steadfast love.  Therefore, this Thanksgiving,  all are invited to be thankful, be joyful, and gratefully proclaim the lovingkindness of the LORD.
