The unique privilege granted to every believer to serve one another in the body of Christ is founded upon the basic truth found in the Gospel of John 1:16: "For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace," (NASB). This marvelous blessing of the redeeming work of Christ is the engine that drives effective redemptive ministries in every Church age--and in ours.
The Holy Spirit revealed to Apostle Paul ministerial instructions to Titus for the church in Crete--indispensable instructions whose applications are contextually applicable to all children of God in every generation: "For the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds." (Titus 2:11-14, NASB)
Indeed, Jesus Christ's Sermon on the Mount emphasized that reality: "You are the salt of the earth... You are the light of the world... Let your light shine before man in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 5:13a, 14a, 16, NASB).
